    Hello WordPress.com Support Team,

I am requesting assistance with an old WordPress.com site that publicly displays my personal information.

The site/page contains personal information relating to me, including my full name, photograph/image, and biographical information. This site was created several years ago as part of a project. I no longer have the login details and I am unable to complete the standard account recovery form because I do not have the listed proof of ownership options, such as a receipt, activation URL/key, or two-factor authentication codes. As I cannot remember any of the old email logins.

To be clear, I am not asking WordPress.com to provide me with access to the account I am requesting that WordPress.com review the content and either:

    1. delete the site,
    2. make the site private, or
    3. remove/restrict the specific page, image, and text that identifies me.

The content is currently publicly searchable and appears in Google search results when my name is searched. I am based in New Zealand and am requesting that the personal information relating to me be removed from public view or otherwise restricted.

Please advise what information you require to verify that I am the person identified on the page. I can provide reasonable identity confirmation if required, but I would prefer to do so only through a secure process confirmed by WordPress.com/Automattic.

If you are unable to delete the entire site, please treat this as a request to remove or restrict the personal information about me that appears on the site, including my name, image, and biographical details.

    Thank you for your help.

    Kind regards,

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi! Unfortunately this isn’t something that community members can help with directly since it requires action from WordPress.com staff who have access to site management tools.

For privacy removal requests like this your best options are:

    1. Submit a privacy request directly to Automattic through their privacy policy page at automattic.com/privacy — they handle personal data removal requests there.
    2. File a formal request through wordpress.com/support and specifically mention it is a privacy/personal data removal request under applicable privacy laws (since you’re in New Zealand, the Privacy Act 2020 may apply).
    3. You can also submit a legal request through Automattic’s legal department at automattic.com/legal if you need a more formal route.

Automattic takes privacy requests seriously and should be able to assist you through those official channels. Good luck!
