Make a post show up under a page but not on the home page?

I am trying to make a post show up under a Page on my Menu bar but NOT on the home page. That is, it contains content that should not show up unless clicked from a Page on my Menu.

Is there a way to do this? Essentially making it a secretive post that can only be accessed through clicking a hyperlink?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Why not make it a page? Static pages don’t display on the posts page (e.g. your front page).

    Pages vs. Posts

If it must be a post, then you could keep it off the front page by adjusting either the published date of the post, the number of posts per page displayed (set at Settings > Reading), or both of these factors.

Neither of these options will work. If it shows up on the home page for even a second it will ruin the reader’s experience. There will be many of these posts which makes using Pages impossible. Unless you can have a page as a subset of another page.

What I’m trying to build is a page with links to Posts but that can only be accessed by clicking the link. The post must never show on the home page with regular posts.

I don’t know how to explain it.. It may not even be possible.

    It’s not possible.

You can have subsets of pages. A generational hierarchy of pages can be built by assigning parent pages at the page attributes module. You can construct more complex hierarchies with a custom menu.

What I’m trying to build is a page with links to Posts but that can only be accessed by clicking the link. The post must never show on the home page with regular posts.

The only ways to hide a published post are to make it private or password protected, but with each of these options the content of the post is hidden while its title is publicly displayed. Email followers must also be considered.

A more tag can also be used to hide the entire content of a post from the front page, except for the title. This is a simpler option than either of the two visibility options I mentioned above and doesn’t require a password or special access permission.

I believe you can publish a post without a title, adding one later if you like. Doing this combined with placing a more tag at the very top of the post content window would allow you to publish a post with neither a title or content visible on the front page. I’m not sure what email followers would receive in that case.

Of course the more links would be visible on the homepage, so that might not be an option after all.

    Another alternative:

It is not necessary to display a posts or blog page on your front page, or anywhere on the site. You could use categories pages exclusively as doorways to the posts. If you assign a static page as your homepage, you must assign another static page as your posts page, but you needn’t provide a link to it, or tell anyone what it’s title or URL is. Note that its slug may be unrelated to its title.
