HI all, when editing a page, I go to the three dots in the upper right where there should be a “make page a template” but that option Is not there. How do I correctly make a page a template I can use for the rest of the pages?

In modern WordPress (version 6.0 and above), you don’t actually turn a page into a template from the page editor; instead, you create a Custom Template in the Site Editor and then assign it to your pages. To do this, go to Appearance > Editor > Templates, click the ‘+’ icon, and select ‘Custom Template’. Once you’ve designed your layout there, you can return to any individual page and, in the ‘Summary’ or ‘Page’ sidebar, look for the ‘Template’ dropdown. Selecting your new custom template will instantly apply that design to the page. If you are looking for a way to simply copy the content of one page to another, the three-dot menu has a ‘Copy all blocks’ feature which you can then paste into a new page.

Hi there!
The “Make Page a Template” option is not available in the page editor. However, you can create a new template through the sidebar settings in the page editor.
You can also create a custom template by navigating to Appearance → Editor → Templates → Add Template. From there, you can design a custom template that can be assigned to multiple pages.
Alternatively, you can use the “Copy All Blocks” option available in the three-dot menu on a page editor to duplicate its content when creating new pages.
It’s important to note that a template controls the layout and structure of your pages, and pages hold your content. When editing a page, you have the option to change the template it uses.
The Pages template controls the layout of standard pages on your site, such as the About or Contact page. If you want to change the overall layout of all pages using this template, you’ll need to edit the Pages template (Appearance → Editor → Templates). Any changes made here will affect every page using that template.
If you wish to modify the content of only a single page, go to Pages in your site’s dashboard and select that specific page for editing.
Additionally, you can save customized blocks for reuse across your site. If you frequently add the same group of blocks to new pages, consider creating patterns to save time.
