making a new website

  Hi there! I’m curious to ask, since I’m starting out as a website builder/designer. What is the most common way if your client wants you to make them a new website but it needs (eventually) be placed under their current domain name. What’s the best way to work then? Make a website in wordpress and then transfer that to the current domain name?

  Hi there,

  If your clients are using their old website until you finish with their new site, I would have the client move the domain over to the new site after you’re completed designing the new site. Or, if they do not want the site to be shown until it’s completely done, I would hold off on transferring the domain.

  Otherwise, if the older site is no longer up, or if they want the new site shown immediately, even while under construction, you can transfer the domain over immediately.
