Making entering passwords for protected files transient for testing

  I am trying to test out protected files in WordPress for getting some opinions before making the posts permanent. After entering the password for the protected file, I would like to make it so that it appears the password was never entered and I have to enter the password again to view the file.

  If using Safari on MacOS, can I use private mode to accomplish this. Am I trying to do something stupid.?
