Making internal pages that don't show in menu
-
Hi, I just recently started being serious about my blog and would like to know if it’s possible for me to do this:
my home page is static (whatever that means), where I describe the ideology behind my blog. However, I want to further go into detail on the points I raise on my home page without the pages showing on menu, a sort of internal pages with no passwords.
For example, I talk about “DILIGENCE” but on home page it must be in brief then put a “read more” link to an internal page which goes into much detail. If it’s making sense or understandable please helpThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not what i want. I tried it but the page still shows in the menu. i want to make an internal page. I just want to make a link that connects to a page inside and no other access to the page except thorough that link.

Which page are you referring to specifically – could you provide the page title or link?

@linkfordbiz,
The Flounder theme evidently displays the entire page hierarchy by default in the left sidebar, above the widget area. Few WordPress themes have that feature, and consequently with most themes you can control which page links are visible by editing the Pages widget or a custom menu.
I believe you’d need a Custom upgrade in order to modify that, but I’m not sure it’s possible even with the upgrade.

Flounder supports a custom menu in the left column, which you’ve already added. The reason your Altruism page is displaying there at the moment is that you’ve added that page to your custom menu. If you delete the page from your custom menu, it will no longer be displayed in your left sidebar. Here’s a screenshot of Appearance > Menus showing what needs to be deleted:
Once you delete the Altruism page from your custom menu, the only way someone can get there is if they know the URL, or if the page has been linked to from elsewhere.
Let me know if this does the trick.

Kathy, (hope u don’t mind)
You are the best. It worked. I removed the page from menu and only left a link. It’s working perfect. Bravo!!! -
