Making this my main site & a question about adding comments
-
This above should be my main site, but when I was drafting, WP turned https://wordpress.com/home/edtechtoolsfromtandy.wordpress.com into https://wordpress.com/home/edtechtoolsfromtandy740390444.wordpress.com
When I am ready to publish the site, can I use the url I started from or copy the site to the original url? I don’t recall creating a separate site as I was drafting.
Also, I don’t really want a blog, but I do want a place for my contact information and for visitors to posts comments and questions and respond to them. I will keep looking for this feature or block, but if you can email a suggestion that will help.
Thank you,

WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Yes -
You have two sites under your account:
https://edtechtoolsfromtandy.wordpress.com/
You can use both, and you can also delete any unwanted one: https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/
For something a little bit less blog-like, try the Blank Canvas theme: https://wordpress.com/theme/blank-canvas/

Macmanx,
I have read both of these articles at length. Some content seems outdated. There doesn’t seem to be a way to delete the original site, replace it with the copy and keep the url. Essentially, the longer address with the number inserted should become the original address.
All information suggests if I delete the original site, which is empty, I lose the domain.
I have created a design (minus all cap headings) I am happy with and don’t want to change themes.
Thank you for any help you can offer.
Be well,

Hi there!
Essentially, the longer address with the number inserted should become the original address.
Just to clarify this further, do you mean you want to keep the content from https://edtechtoolsfromtandy740390444.wordpress.com/ and use it on the site with the address https://edtechtoolsfromtandy.wordpress.com/?
If yes, you’ll need to export all content from the site where you have all content (
https://edtechtoolsfromtandy740390444.wordpress.com/) and import them into your desired site/address (https://edtechtoolsfromtandy.wordpress.com/) – once your content has been imported into your desired site/address, you can then delete the earlier site (with the numbers). All information suggests if I delete the original site, which is empty, I lose the domain.
This is correct. So if the site you want to delete has all of your content, then you would want to export all content → import into the site that you want to use first, and then delete the first site.
