Making WordPress Site Private

  I can’t seem to find or locate where or how I can make my wordpress site private while I’m busy building it. Help?

  Hi there,

  Of what site are you speaking? I see several in your account.

  A site hosted on WordPress.com can be set to private at My Site ->Manage ->Settings:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  If you’re speaking of a WordPress site hosted somewhere else, you’ll be using the open source WordPress.org software, and that software doesn’t offer any option to make a site private. In that case you’ll need a maintenance mode/coming soon plugin on the site to hide it while you work on it.
