manage blog e-mail subscriptions

  How to I manage e-mail subscriptions to my blog? I have the e-mail subscription widget, but I would like to be able to add people who have e.g. signed up via an old-fashioned pen-and-paper…

  If you log out, you can enter their email address into the widget yourself, but they will still receive a confirmation email with an activation link which they must click to activate the subscription.

  That seems to work. Is that the only method of managing subscriptions? If someone wants to unsubscribe, I assume they have to do it themselves?

  Yes, subscribers will have to unsubscribe themselves.
