Manually Adding Subscribers With Error Message

  I cannot manually add subscribers to my site. Every time I try to add, it says that my site doesn’t allow subscriptions and sends an error message. What do I do?

  Hey @nicolegdenham

  This usually means the subscriptions feature got turned off somewhere in your settings, easy fix!

  Go to My Site → Settings → Discussion and look for the “Allow people to subscribe to your blog” option and make sure it’s toggled on. Save changes and try adding a subscriber again.

  If that’s already enabled, check My Site → Settings → General and make sure your site visibility isn’t set to Private, a private site blocks subscriptions automatically since visitors can’t access the content anyway.

  Also worth checking, go to My Site → Earn → Subscribers and see if there’s any notice or restriction showing there. Sometimes a plan limitation can trigger that error depending on what type of subscribers you’re trying to add.
