Manually migrating tables… what can/can't I migrate???
-
Long story short is that I’m trying to migrate my site from one host to another host and I need to know which tables I can migrate and those that I can’t.
For instance.. can I migrate the tables from mysql for wp-comments, wp_commentmeta, wp_posts, wp_postmeta without causing issues on the new host with a clean install of WordPress?
Just trying to figure out which tables will break the new host and should be hands off. Is there a link to a page with a description of the tables and their purposes which might shed some light??
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there!
That’s awesome that you found the information you were looking for!
Just a heads up that on this forum, we primarily help with WordPress.com sites. Since your question seems to be with the WordPress.org software, you would want to post on the WordPress.org support forum if you have more questions: https://wordpress.org/support/forums
There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it well: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org.
Hope that helps!
