  Only you can make that decision as you are the one paying. If you’re planning on creating a site here at WordPress.com using a domain you already own then personally I would transfer (if possible) to keep everything in one place. (Actually I would have bought the domain here in the first place). Note that if you’ve owned the domain for less than 60 days then mapping is your only option.
