Mapping a domain
-
Hi! I recently purchased a domain on another site and (long story short) am looking into mapping it over to this blog. Rather than having two blogs though I was wondering if it would be at all possible to change the domain of the blog I currently have (www.lovesydneyblog.wordpress.com) to the one I purchased (www.lovesydneyblog.com). I know you can change the url of your existing blog but I am wondering if you can do that and change it to a domain you mapped from a different site? Sorry if this is confusing.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @lovesydneyblog, no problem. You can add the domain here:
https://wordpress.com/domainsthen point it to our servers. This article explains more if you need help:
https://wordpress.com/domains -
Okay thank you! So does that mean that I will be able to switch http://www.lovesydneyblog.wordspress.com to http://www.lovesydneyblog.com without any problems? Or will I need to just start fresh with the new URL?

@lovesydneyblog The nameservers settings are at your registrar (you seem to be with domain.com )
You could change first then map, or map then change. Personally I’d go for the second option. In either case though, the settings change at domain.com will probably take a few hours to take full effect, so once youv’e mapped and changed the settings, just give it a few hours before trying to view it. I hope that helps.
