Mapping a domain I own

    Hi,
    I own a domain name that I want to redirect to my blog. Clicking domains -> manage, I see the option to use the one I own, and the text ‘Free with your plan, but registration costs at your current provider still apply’. This sounds like what I want, but when trying to actually do it I get a checkout for WordPress premium (which I don’t want and can’t afford) as well as domain mapping, marked as free.
    Is this a dead-end? If I can’t map my domain to my blog without going premium I’m going to have to make another plan. Please advise as to what I can do,

    Let’s try a different flow.

    Go to https://wordpress.com/pricing/ and click on the Personal plan option. Add it to your account.

    Then, click on My Sites – Manage – Domains – Add New

    Type your domain in the search bar and connect it via mapping:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
