Mapping a public domain to qualify for AdWords

I bought the http://www.chronicledmemories.com domain and have it mapped and redirecting to http://chronicledmemories.wordpress.com/

Does this not qualify for WordAds? What am I missing?

  • Hi there,

I don’t see any domain mapping upgrades in the account you’re using to post here, and the domain, chronicledmemories.com, is not mapped to any site on WordPress.com. That domain is currently pointed to Namecheap.com’s servers.

What you have on that domain is not mapping. You’re merely redirecting that domain from Namecheap to us. In other words, Namecheap is from their end sending any traffic that goes to that domain, to us instead, without the domain being attached to your site in any way.

To properly map the domain, you will have to upgrade to a paid plan, and then follow these instructions to add mapping for the domain:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

Once you’ve done that you’ll be able to apply for WordAds, but your application will only be approved once you reach the minimum required traffic level for WordAds membership. That is, unless you upgrade to the Premium Plan or higher, which will automatically approve your site.
