Mapping a subdomain to an existing domain
-
I have added fieldtraks.ca (2 days ago) and fieldtraks.com (today) to My Domains.
Two days ago I added the following to the DNS records:
host = blog.fieldtraks.ca.
type = CNAME
value = fieldtraks.wordpress.com.The DNS records report that:
blog.fieldtraks.ca is an alias for fieldtraks.wordpress.com.
fieldtraks.wordpress.com is an alias for lb.wordpress.com.
lb.wordpress.com has address 192.0.78.13
lb.wordpress.com has address 192.0.78.12When I got to blog.fieldtraks.ca it takes my to the web site on our server instead of WordPress.
In My Domains I have fieldtraks.ca set as the primary domain.
Why is it not redirecting to WordPress?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
When you add a domain mapping upgrade, the exact address you enter is the one that’s linked to your WordPress.com site. I just replaced your domain mapping upgrade for fieldtraks.ca with an upgrade for blog.fieldtraks.ca (since that’s the address you want to use with your WordPress.com site), and now it’s working: http://blog.fieldtraks.ca/
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

Can I edit an existing entry?
I added a 2nd domain as fieldtraks.com instead of blog.fieldtrakscom.
When I go to Edit DNS on the Domain Management page and attempt to change it, it appears to delete it instead so I have not saved any changes.
Is this where I need to reenter it or do you have to do it on the backend?

There isn’t a way for you to edit an existing domain mapping upgrade directly — that has to be done by staff. I just swapped out your upgrade for fieldtraks.com with an upgrade for blog.fieldtraks.com, so that’s all done, too.
If I can do anything more to help, let me know!
