Mapping and Paying for Premium

How do I pay for the $13 to map my domain? Or pay for the premium package. I click on it but it doesn’t do anything? I am trying to get my blog started.

  • Just to make sure, are you using these pages:

    Mapping:

    https://wordpress.com/domains/

    Premium:

    https://wordpress.com/plans

Yes, I used that first link. It allows me to see if I can map an existing domain. I put that in and it says that it can be mapped but yet it says that the name is already taken. (destinyjoy.net is the domain I already have that I want to use for my blog .) When I click MapNow it does nothing. Stays on the same page.
Your other link takes me to the “you dont have any wordpress sites yet”. But I cant get one because it wont allow the destinyjoy.
I need support to speak to someone or chat so I can get this done. This is very frustrating and difficult to use. I was told word press is easy. :-(

I was also trying to buy the business upgrade and when I click again it doesn’t do anything.

Not to worry, I am WordPress.com Staff. We’ll get this sorted out.

The issue here is that you do not seem to have a WordPress.com site yet. So, log into your WordPress.com account and then use this link to create a WordPress.com site:

    https://signup.wordpress.com/start/

It doesn’t really matter what you call it because you are going to replace the ______.wordpress.com URL with your custom destinyjoy.net URL. destinyjoy.wordpress.com appears taken, so I would just go with destinyjoy1234.wordpress.com or something. As I say, it won’t matter since that URL will be hidden by your custom URL.

Once you’ve created a site, head back to this link to purchase WordPress.com Business or Premium:

    https://wordpress.com/plans

I would encourage you to purchase Business or Premium first, if you are going to do so. Mostly because Domain Mapping is included for your custom domain with those two plans. So there’s no need to purchase it separately.

Let me know if you have any trouble.

THANK YOU! Is the fee just a one time yearly fee or can it be paid monthly?

  • WordPress.com upgrades are yearly fees. The only exception would be theme purchases, which are one time purchases.

We currently do not offer a monthly payment option.
