Mapping domain from AddAction.net – nameserver change or point A & CNAME record
-
user: sunnykoll
I am trying to port my domain (sunnykoll.com) from registrar AddAction, but their cPanel does not have an option for an easy name server change. After contacting their support, I received this email:“The easiest thing to do would be for us to point the A or CNAME record for your domain to wordpress. Do they give you instructions on what A or CNAME record to set?”
Is this the best way of doing this? Keep in mind that I will also need my email service ported over, currently also hosted by AddAction.net
Thanks!
Sunny

Hi Sunny,
The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s nameservers to the following values:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records accordingly.
My recommendation is to move your domain to domain registrar that supports changing the name servers. However, if you still want to go ahead and map your domain using A records, please be sure to create at least two, pointing to two different IPs from the list below:
- 76.74.254.123
- 192.0.78.16
- 192.0.80.250
- 192.0.81.250
- 76.74.254.120
- 66.155.9.238
- 66.155.11.238
