Mapping example.com/shop to shop.example.com just as a link
-
Hi,
Is it possible to map my shop page from example.com/shop to shop.example.com without making any duplicates of WP? Just link It. -
What’s possible is here
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/ -
I read each one link more than 5 times before, trying to understand how can I set it up. But I still can’t find what I want.
I already have domain like example.com and shop on it (example.com/shop)
But I want to redirect existing shop to another link at already created and purchased subdomain – shop.example.com
Is it possible?
Thanks -
Just to redirect, not to create another shop or use subdomain as extetnal link.
I want it to work on my main domain with my cart and wishes. For example if I want to buy something I can push at shop link at example.com, I will be redirected to shop.example.com (but it have to be the same site, the same wordpress system) after that I can add something to my cart, then can go back to example.com AND my cart at the top shows me what I’ve added. -
Well, hypotheticals don’t give us enough information. I am just going to have to guess, though, it seems.
I GUESS that you could put a javascript redirect on your old shop to point to your new shop. If your old shop is hosted here, however, you can’t.
