Mapping is not working

  I have mapped my domain name http://www.perfect-picnincs.co.uk to perfectpicnincblog.wordpress.com I have changed the DNS settings as requested. My domain is registered with 123-Reg.co.uk. I did this at least 12 hours ago. It is still not being recognised by WordPress as being mapped.

  Your domain name is not showing that it is pointed at the wordpress.com servers:

  Name servers:
  dns1.register.com
  dns2.register.com

  For a .co.uk domain name, staff have to set a zone record for you. Has staff done that yet? Did you ask?

  And for reference for staff, there is a typo in the link in the OP’s post (an extra “n”).

  Thanks for your reply. I have changed the name servers, but I guess it’s taking longer to show up. I’ll wait another 24 hours and see what happens then.

  You also need to map your domain – that is separate from just changing the name servers: A zone record also needs to be added – as noted above – have you had a zone record added for your domain?

  Did you follow these instructions?

  Thanks for your reply auxclass. I have followed the instructions in the link that you sent. I’ve had a look at where my domain is registered (123-reg.com) and it says that it’s pointing to my wordpress blog web address.
  I’m really new to this. So sorry if this sounds very dim, but. What do you mean by a zone record? I can’t find reference to that in the link that you sent?

  But now I’m getting an error message saying that it can’t be done. Has anyone got any thoughts on why that might be? Thanks again.

  You need a zone record added for: perfect-picnics.co.uk – your name servers don’t seem to be pointing to WordPress.COM – they can’t be until a zone record is added

  I will flag this for the staff to add a zone record for you – they will respond here when they have added the zone record

  I have manually added a zone record for your domain.

  Thank you for adding the zone record to my domain. It still doesn’t seem to be working though. I have been in touch with 123-reg.co.uk who have confirmed that the name servers are updated to the wordpress ones. But when I go to store and domain within wordpress.com site it still says that I don’t own the domain and that the name servers are dns1.register.com dns2.register.com.
  I am at a loss as to how to proceed. It seems both sides say they are correct but it’s not working. I have waited 24 hours (as requested to by 123-reg) for the changes to take effect but it is still not working.
  Can anyone help please?
