Mapping my domain to WordPress.com – Problem with Custom DNS Records
-
I’m trying to map my WordPress.com blog to my domain (graccon.com.au). However, when I edit my Custom DNS Records I keep getting an error message. My hosting provider (Digital Pacific) have told me to type in ‘A mail graccon.com.au’ but when I do this I get a message telling me that I need a subdomain. I contacted Digital Pacific but they have assured me that its not required. However, according to my error message I’m getting, I can’t save my changes unless I put in a subdomain. I really don’t know what to do. Can someone please help me?

Try a CNAME record for this instead:
CNAME mail graccon.com.au.
Is that still isn’t working, please double check the records with your email provider.

After a lot of messing around it seems to be working now.
In the end this is what I ended up putting in:
“MX 0 cp17.digitalpacific.com.au.”
All I need to do now is recover the theme I purchased and installed yesterday morning (namely ‘Studeo’) but which disappeared from my WordPress.com account yesterday afternoon.
Wish me luck.

I don’t see any premium theme purchases on your WordPress.com account.
Where did you purchase the theme from?
