Mapping or not

Hello, I’m still confused about this mapping or not to map. I have my domain and I have an email address that goes with the domain. Will I be able link this email or not? Also will I have to include WordPress in the website address and email address?

What is the domain and with which site do you want to use it?
You will only need mapping with WordPress.com, if you are connecting the domain to a site hosted on WordPress.com (which you don’t have, as you’re posting here using a brand new account that has not yet created any sites on our platform).
In that case, you’ll be able to add all the MX and other DNS records required for your email to work, to the domain on our end. Your site will have a free WordPress.com address, but it will appear at your mapped domain, and the email will also be on your mapped domain – it’s not possible to set up an email address on the free WordPress.com subdomain.

If you’re planning to use the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider, please contact that hosting provider directly for help with their process for connecting your domain and setting up your email on it.
