Mapping or transfering costs

  Hello,

  I’m interested what is the cheaper option, mapping or transfering the domain name on WP?

  I bought it for one year only, and plan to use WP free to start with.

  For both you would need one of our paid plans:

  https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  Mapping is free with any of them, transferring will also be included in the price of the plan, however, you will start paying for the domain additionally from the second year. The price will depend on the domain extension (TLD):
