Mapping or transferring a domain

Hello!
We recently purchased a domain at Godaddy and we are looking to build a site using this domain. We want to build a landing page using wordpress but intend to host the full site eventually at godaddy. What is the best option now to build the landing page: transfer or map the domain?

It’s more a personal preference type of thing, really.
Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
So, basically, are you an “all of your eggs in one basket” type of person, or “not all of your eggs in one basket”? :)
