Mapping wordpress to an existing domain

  Hi there,
  I just set up a wordpress account for my business. I already have a .ie domain name that I would like the wordpress account to map to. I am not very tech savy, could you explain in a couple of sentances how I do this. Do I need to inform the owner of my current registrar? Also, my site was hacked previously, how secure is a wordpress site. I do not want to have any issues with hacking,

  Domain mapping is just a fancy term that means point the site to another provider. You can still use the domain with us even though you didn’t register it here with us through this process. I hope that helps. Write back with more questions.

  Thanks for that, I have to upgrade to a premium account to map my wordpress site to my .ie domain is that right? Is this a secure process? I dont want my ,ie domain to get hacked, thx
