markdown footnotes not working?

  I have 2 markdown footnotes on this post….
  http://wp.josh.com/2015/03/12/avr-timer-based-one-shot-explained/

  But only one of them is being formatted correctly. I can not for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong, or even what could be different between the two footnotes.

  What am I doing wrong?

  Hi Josh,

  I noticed your first footnote starts out like this:

  [1^]:

  For that footnote to work properly, the caret needs to come before the number, like this:

  [^1]:

  If you switch that around and it still doesn’t work, please let me know and I’ll take another look!
