Hi!
Your outline if what is, and what is not allowed in wordpress was very vague.I’m am affiliate Marketer for Wealthy Affiliate and I want to sign up a friend of mine. Although i understand a mature content site wont be able to be an affiliate site. Shes wondering if she could also have a site that let’s her post image and video with nudity only for a ‘members only’ audience.
It sounds to me like it’s a no, but I have to ask before I tell her no and am wrong.
If I am wrong, is there a plugin or something that can be used for member age verification?
I feel stupid posting this and now understand why she asked me too lol

Whether or not a mature content site can be an affiliate site is up to whichever affiliate program you’re using, not us. Our mature content policy only pertains to what content we allow you to publish on, or link to from a WordPress.com site – nudity and erotica is fine, pornography not. We don’t prohibit sites that publish mature content to participate in affiliate programs run by other services.
Marking a site as mature means it won’t appear in tag listings, recommended sites or search results in the Reader, but the site will still be indexed by search engines, can still be shared other places online, and can still be subscribed to by anyone using a WordPress.com account or an email address. In other words, it prevents your site from being randomly discovered in public areas on WordPress.com, but we don’t prevent anyone from visiting it.
I would note that we also don’t allow sites that exist for the sole purpose of driving traffic to affiliate networks like Wealthy Affiliate. We only allow affiliate linking in the context of original content you create on your site, for example, a book review blog posting Amazon affiliate links for the books they blog about. If the books being reviewed happen to be erotic fiction, we ask that you report your site as mature, but we won’t prevent you from using affiliate links in your posts.

To have it members only there are two options: Make the site private. That way only WordPress.com users that you specifically invite have the ability to view content on the site. If the site is private it won’t be indexed by search engines and won’t be accessible to anyone except those added as viewers.

The other option is to use a membership plugin to restrict the content to registered members on an otherwise public website. Using plugins require our Business Plan.

An age verification plugin would also require our Business Plan. Just keep in mind that those don’t actually restrict access to the content, as you just need to click a button that says “Yes, I’m over 18” to get past it. I’ve never really seen the point of those :)
