measuring visitors
-
Number of visitors never seems to be what I would expect. We have a blog we use only internally and always password protect it. The number of visitors is always far fewer than the number of page views, so I am wondering what metrics actually determine a visitor? Is it IP addresses, ISP’s, or something else?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Yes, ordinarily a visitor will be identified by the IP address location. Although I believe you’d still get credit if the visitor hides the IP. A single (unique) visitor may visit many pages, or click on every image in a gallery, for example, resulting in one visit with 20, 30, or 100 page views.
