Media library

I am in a bit of a mess with my media library insofar the i have plenty of multiples of the same image and since i do not know which image has been allocated to any of the pages in my website I do not dare to eliminate ‘doubles’ because i might delete a linked one. Now I am looking for a plugin that will identify the images in the media library which have been used/linked in pages of my website. Once I know this then I can selectively start to delete ‘unused’ doubles. Can you help?

  • Hi –

I’m not aware of any plugin that can do that through automation. In order to use plugins on hjwallphotography.wordpress.com the business plan would be required. See here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

I would just work on one post at a time. If the file is deleted from the library and it happens to be the one from the post you’ll know bc the post will then show a broken image on display instead of the appropriate one. It’s not a big deal. Just add the image back in to the library and the post, delete the broken image from the post and save.
