Media library empty?
-
I recently was given editor rights to our organization’s website. The administrator uploaded a few document files to our media library. When I went into the media library to review these files and made certain the filters “all media items” and “all dates” was selected. There are no files available to view. I also tried in a private Incognito window. I doubled-checked with our administrator to ensure that full permissions were given, and yes, my access was established correctly. Any ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The most common reason an Editor can’t see files uploaded by an Administrator is a ‘Media Library Ownership’ restriction, where the site is configured to only show users the files they uploaded themselves. Even with ‘full’ Editor permissions, certain security plugins or theme settings can restrict the global view to keep the library organized. To fix this, ask your Administrator to check if a plugin like ‘User Role Editor’ or ‘FileBird’ is active, as these often have a ‘hidden’ setting that restricts media visibility by user. If no such plugin exists, have the Admin try ‘re-saving’ your user profile—simply changing your role to ‘Author’ and then back to ‘Editor’ can often force the database to refresh your metadata and clear the visibility block.
