Media links not opening in Chrome

I am redid a page of resources that workshop leaders are supposed to be able to download. I uploaded all the files in the media library and linked their URLs to the page. There is a mix of file types including pdfs, Word docs, Excel files, etc. On Chrome, only the pdfs open. When I click on a different file type, the screen kind of flashes like it’s trying to do something but nothing happens. When we’ve tried it on Microsoft Edge and Safari, all the file types open without a problem. It’s just Chrome.
I’ve deleted the cache. I’ve tried it logged in and logged out. I’ve had others try it on their computers. It’s the same across the board. Non-pdf files are not opening on Chrome.

This solely depends on how the browser was configured to handle those types of file. By default Chrome can open pdf-files, al other types of files are downloaded into Downloads.
