Memberpress and logging into WordPress.com

We are planning to use Memberpress to manage paid member permissions in an upcoming WordPress.com Business site. In order to login to our website do our members need a WordPress.com account or will they simply be able to login to our website with the credentials they create when signing up via our Memberpress system?

WordPress.com Business Plan sites have Jetpack’s Secure Sign-on feature enable by default, and that requires anyone added to the site to have a WordPress.com account of their own.
However, if you want to create a membership site using a plugin like Memberpress, you can disable that.
