Menu Bar Graphic Issue
-
Hi All, I’m sort of a newbie, need a little help, I’ve tried the AI assistant, but to no avail.
I’m working on a site for my daughter, https://restoredbehavior.com/
She created the original site, I’ve been modifying it. At the top of the homepage, there’s a “menu” bar (I think, I’ve been using “navigation” for my menus). At the absolute left of that menu bar, she put a tiny little logo, which you can see if you look closely, that links to the homepage. I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find that logo in any of my editing pages. I’d like to access it and change it, or delete the menu bar completely and build a new one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Dave

Hi Dave,
Kudos to you for helping your daughter with her site! I’m also a bit of a newbie myself, but let’s try this out:
The reason you can’t find that logo on your regular editing pages is because it lives inside a global section called the Header, which controls the top of the entire website. Right now, that tiny logo is sitting as an Image block right next to your menu. Let’s go track it down:
1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
2. Navigate to Appearance > Editor.
3. Click on the preview of your homepage on the right to enter the editing mode.
Click the List View icon at the top left of your screen (it looks like three staggered horizontal lines). This opens a map of your page elements.
4. Look for the Header block at the very top and expand it.
5. Inside the header containers, you will see an Image block right next to your navigation elements. That is your tiny logo! Then you can change it or delete the whole menu section from this list view and press the + to build a new one
Give that a shot and let me know if it works for you? -
Hi @y8ycpqj4h5,
It looks like you’ve already received some helpful guidance above regarding where that logo may be located in your site’s header.
I also took a look at the site and noticed that it appears to be self-hosted rather than hosted on WordPress.com. You can verify that here:
https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/restoredbehavior.com
Because of that, we don’t have access to your site’s files, theme settings, or admin configuration, so we’re unable to investigate the header setup directly from our side.
Just to clarify, WordPress websites can be hosted with many different providers. While they all use the WordPress software, the hosting provider manages access to the site’s files and settings. If you’d like to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress, this guide may help: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
For assistance with this specific issue, I’d recommend contacting your hosting provider or posting in the WordPress.org support forums, where volunteers familiar with self-hosted WordPress sites can take a closer look: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
We’ll go ahead and close this thread here since the site isn’t hosted on WordPress.com, but I hope the guidance above helps point you in the right direction.
And if you’re ever interested in moving the site to WordPress.com in the future, we do offer free site migrations and can handle much of the work for you. You can learn more here: https://wordpress.com/support/request-a-free-migration/
Thank You.
