Menu Pictures
-
So I’d like to have 3 different categories or menus for my posts to be organized into, but I’d like to have a different picture at the top when they are viewed. Can I use a different picture than the parent page picture?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Category pages are automatically generated when you assign categories to posts. On the Hemingway Rewritten theme, archives pages (including category, author, year, month, and date archives pages, and search results pages) each display the site header image, which is set at Customize > Header Image. Your options include the following:
1. Display the custom header image presently assigned on the posts page, archives pages, and static pages.
2. Display, instead, one of the suggested default images on those same pages. To do this, first click on the chosen image, and then click on the “Save & Publish” button at the top of the Customize area.
3. Display no header image on the same pages. To do this, select the “Hide image” button, then the Save & Publish button.
4. Add more custom images and display them randomly on the same pages by choosing the “Randomize uploaded images” button, and then Save & Publish.
5. Randomly display an image from the suggested images on each of the same pages by choosing the “Randomize suggested images” button, and then Save & Publish.

Correction:
1. Display the custom header image presently assigned on the posts page, archives pages, and static pages.
Static pages, which are not dynamic like the posts page and archives pages, may have a featured image assigned to display instead of the site header image.

Another alternative:
Instead of linking your menu categories to auto-generated WP.com category pages, you may link them instead to your own customized category pages created by incorporating customized display posts shortcode into static pages. One of the benifits of doing this would be that you could assign a separate featured image to each customized category page.
