menu smoother when scrolling

    Hi guys,

When scrolling down the page the header menu will stay at the top until it disappears until it’s out of the window then it jumps and appears again.

Is it possible to make the menu scroll smoother?

    Hope this makes sense?

Hi there, I’ve put in a ping for one of our developers to have a look at this to see if this is something that can be made to operate more smoothly. It is done with Javascript/jQuery, and is not something we can fix or adjust with CSS.

As soon as I hear from our developer, I’ll post here and let you know.

    Hi thesacredpath.

Thanks for your quick reply! Much appreciated.

Is this something I can do from my end as I’m unsure how I’d use Javascript/JQuery on wordpress.

    Thanks!

Does anyone have a fix for this?

The primary header appears when it’s just going out of view. Is there a way to make this smoother and to keep the logo the same size?

We cannot use Javascript or jQuery here at WordPress.com, and we cannot edit the theme files, we can only add custom CSS, and this is not something that can be fixed with custom CSS.

I’m still waiting to hear from the theme developer on this. Hopefully I’ll have an answer on Friday.

@a1motorcare, I have filed a ticket on this issue with the theme developer and hopefully they will be able to smooth things out. In my testing on Mac, Chrome is very smooth in the transition, with Safari a little jumpy, and in Firefox, it is quite jumpy.

Are you only seeing this issue in Chrome on your Windows computer? Have you tried IE to see if it is jumpy there as well?
