Menus and Categories Not Appearing
-
Hello! Okay, so I am new to blogging and I have just set up a blog using the Twenty Ten theme. Everything I’ve done so far has worked splendidly . . . except for a couplre of things. I created a custom menu and categories, and neither have shown up on the blog. All I can see for the menu is ‘home’ which was an automatic setting anyway, and undercategories ‘uncategorized,’ also automatic. However, I don’t have any posts yet under any of the categories. Is this because they aren’t programmed to appear unless there are actual posts under them or am I just doing something wrong? Note that I have my ‘about’ page listed under my custom menu and that certainly has something in it, so I’m inclined to think I’m leaving out some essential step. Note too that I reviewed this site about creating categories: http://susuteh.wordpress.com/2009/01/10/creating-wordpress-categories-2/ and I do not appear to have the same dashboard layout as what appears there. I can’t find any sort of menu which lists Write – Manage – Design – Comments across the top like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

b) If you have added your About page to your custom menu, then you’ve probably forgotten to select that menu from the dropdown in the Theme Locations module.
a) Yes, a category won’t show up unless it’s assigned to at least one published post (makes sense: categories are the sub-groups of your posts: there’s no point displaying a zero posts group).

Thanks for your reply, pan. I’ll see if your suggestion fixes the menu problem. And thank you for answering my question about categories. It’s what i figured but I needed a second opinion.
