merging two wordpress addresses into one
-
I registered a free wordpress domain but when I made my ecommerce site, it changed the address to a new one. I still have the other domain registered but not active, and I’d like to use the not active address in place of the ecommerce address. Is there any way to do that? Thanks in advance!

They are both free wordpress domains. I got the first one when I signed up, but when I went to make a site through Anchor, it made a totally new one. I haven’t even launched the original one with the name I want to use, but it is in my dashboard under my pages.

Ok, for that you’ll need to export from the old site https://wordpress.com/support/export/ and import into the new site: https://wordpress.com/support/import/#import-content-from-another-word-press-site

I was thinking about that, but they’re both under the same username so when I export files, it exports the empty website as well…

The export works per site, not account, so follow the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/export/ and make sure you’re exporting the correct site’s content.

Hmm… I can’t get it to work… is it maybe because one is a blog and one is an ecommerce site? I went through the whole process twice but nothing changed…
