Migrate from in house server running wordpress to one hosted by wordpress.com.

Register a WP.com blog, whatever URL you want. Then map your custom URL to it via this http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
Then on your old blog, go to Dashboard->Tools->Export and get an export file. Be sure to get everything. Then on the new blog go to Tools->Import. Check to make sure it all comes over (sometimes you may need to break up the export into chunks by date if it’s large).
