Migrating From WordPress.com to Self Hosted

  Hi all!

  I am trying to migrate a WordPress.com hosted blog, theprimalrabbit.com (waiting for nameservers to point back to it) to self hosting. The guide I found on here refers to an EPP code which is not in my WordPress.com blog under Store->Domains and Export hasn’t worked. Is there any way I may obtain a full zip of all the files and databases related to my site to restore on the new host?

  No, there is not. You create an Export file from the Tools page of the dashboard. It contains comments and posts and media. That is all you can get from a WordPress.com blog.

  Unfortunately, this method isn’t importing a lot of content including media. Surely a backup of the site shouldn’t be this hard to find seeing as it’s a paid service.

  Any way of backing up and restoring media that works????
