Migrating my domaine name

  Hel me get this right, I just paid Godaddy a fee covering 2-years for my new domaine name about 30 minutes ago, but now, in order for me to use Word Press to build the site,I have to forget what I paid Godaddy and pay you to migrate the domaine over and then pay an additional annual fee to have the site?

  Hi there,

  I understand that you already paid GoDaddy for the domain, but that doesn’t cover our costs for the services we provide, and you will have to also buy a paid plan on our end to use the domain here, yes, as this is not a free service on WordPress.com.

  As part of the plan you can either connect the domain here via a process called domain mapping, while keeping it registered with GoDaddy. Or you can choose to transfer the domain to us entirely.

  If you do decide to transfer, you won’t lose any of the time for which you’ve already paid GoDaddy, and the domain will also be renewed for an additional year, meaning it will be valid for three years after the transfer completes. However, you won’t be able to transfer the domain anywhere until you’ve owned it for at least 60 days – this waiting period applies to all domains at all domain providers.
