Migrating website to Godaddy

  Hello all,

  does anyone have any experience in moving a wordpress.com website to another host? I’ve read a lot of documentation but I’m still not completely clear what the process is.

  Godaddy offer a ‘one click migration tool’. Does this take care of moving the site AND domain name registration? Are there any pitfalls I need to be wary about?

  Grateful for any help.

  We can’t tell you what Godaddy’s offer includes. We can say it’s not that complicated, but moving the content and moving the domain are separate things.

  Thanks very much. Godaddy offer a domain name transfer service.

  Would I be right in saying I would just need to transfer my domain name and then do the site move using their migration tool?

  Also would I have to change to wordpress.org first or does moving to another host amount to the same thing?
