Migration of website from wix to WordPress

  I’m trying to migrate my website hosted by six to WordPress. I’m kind of confused with the options given as I do not understand the difference between ‘Transfer your domain away from your current registrar’ and ‘Map your domain without moving it from your current registrar’. Need more information regarding this and the implication if any.

  My domain name was registered with domains.co.za and the websites was designed on wix.com and they are the host websites but I want to migrate to WordPress.

  It’s more a personal preference type of thing, really.

  Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

  A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

  So, basically, are you an “all of your eggs in one basket” type of person, or “not all of your eggs in one basket”? :)
