Missing page alert
-
I keep getting a missing page message that goes with my primary url setting.
Blog url: http://dirndylskirt.wordpress.com/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Please try clearing your browser cache and cookies because I’m using Firefox 14.0.1 and I don’t experience this when I click into that blog.
If that does not work for you then we need to know
(1) how you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com.
The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.(2) exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

actually, it comes up on the url another blog that I just put up. I guess it once was the home page and I might have deleted it, but even tho I added a few pages I can’t get the main page to show anything except the “This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it” coy BS. I tried to set up a static page and still no luck getting http://sharonwattswrites.wordpress.com to show a viable page.
Help! -
That was fast! I am using Safari. DSL. On an iMac. Maybe I will switch over to FIrefox. The dirndl skirt blog is fine–I am on an umbrella blog under it that I just set up. Let me try Firefox. Thank you.

Emptied cache, still that page comes up. I need to go garden. This is exasperating. Thank you for trying to help.

Just switched something around and made it go away. Again, thanks for your support/suggestions, timethief!

That’s odd. Do you mean that when you click this link http://dirndylskirt.wordpress.com/ you see an error message?
If so please post the exact error message here. -
No–if you look back to my second post you will see the link. WordPress automatically put in my primary link (dirndl skirt) even tho I typed it out with the new one. I didn’t notice that they did that until it showed up here in this thread. The exact error message is also in that post (the one after you posted first time). I seem to have shuffled things around and gotten rid of it (for now).

Hi again,
Is this it? http://dirndylskirt.wordpress.com/2012/08/15/hopping-the-pond-1984/
Or are you referring to the “continue reading” link here? http://dirndylskirt.wordpress.com/2012/08/Why have you inserted the @ which is only for email addresses into your post title?
-
This is a private blog > http://sharonwattswrites.wordpress.com/
We Volunteers can’t view private blogs. I’m flagging this thread for Staff as they can view private blogs. -
http://sharonwattswrites.wordpress.com/ seems to be fine. Just make sure that you keep the front page settings at Settings -> Reading in your Dashboard up-to-date.
Previously, it looks like you may have deleted the page that you set as your front page, hence the error.

Thank you macmanx~ Yes, I think deleting the page is what threw me off. I’ll copy this advice to refer to.

timethief ~ thank you for sending this to Staff.
The @ is also commonly used to mean “around” and in this instance it is a title of a post, not an email.
