Mixed up multiple WP accounts; free vs. paid.

I recently purchased this URL from iPower.com, where I also own another URL. iPower offers a hookup with WordPress, and I purchased the Basic Starter plan at the same time I purchased the URL. I also have other (free) accounts on WP. Somehow, I started building my site on one of the free accounts. When I realized my error, I tried to switch my site to my paid account, but have had a lot of problems with that, including inability to installJetpack on the paid site. I am pretty sure that my my dns has been correctly updated to the WP servers, but still multiple glitches with the site and no Jetpack. If I try to map the paid account/URL to WP through the WP app, it does not recognize me as a paid user and wants me to purchase another plan. I have tried everything I can think of, including uninstalling and reinstall WP several times, and still the same errors. I am at me wits end.

The site I need help with is greenplantationfarm.com. It is not hosted by WordPress.com or connected with Jetpack. This site is not linked to my WordPress.com account.

This is the error fro Jetpack:
‘The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site http://greenplantationfarm.com [IXR -32300: transport error: http_request_failed cURL error 6: Could not resolve host: greenplantationfarm.com]”

These are the errors from Site Health:

“The REST API request failed due to an error.
Error: cURL error 6: Could not resolve host: greenplantationfarm.com (http_request_failed)”

“The loopback request to your site failed, this means features relying on them are not currently working as expected.

  • Hi there!

To clear up any further confusion, there is WordPress.com and WordPress.org, and they are two different entities.

We, WordPress.com, are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.

You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this support page:

    https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.

That said, your site greenplantationfarm.com, is hosted with iPower, not with WordPress.com. To resolved the Jetpack connection issues, it’s best if you reach out directly to Jetpack’s support team at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/.
