  Hi, I cancelled my domain jannatspiritualite.com accidentally at WordPress and deleted my website. Now I’d like to buy the same domain. When I search the domain name it says that the domain is parked, under WordPress.
  Could WordPress let go of the domain so I can claim it back?

  Hey there,

  You canceled the domain within 5 days of registering it, so it should be available again soon. Once a domain name is deleted by the registry at this stage, it is immediately available for registration by any registrant through any Registrar, and that happens shortly after the 5 day grace period.

  We can immediately restore the domain for you within that 5 day period, but after that, we no longer have control over it. So, depending on where you want to register the domain (with us or elsewhere), you should decide ASAP on how you want it re-registered. You can always point the domain over to your host from WordPress.com until 60 days of registration hits (where you can transfer the domain anywhere you please). That will at least guarantee you will get it back without any potential complications. Let me know.

  Hey ,
  Thank you for your response, after 10 days my domain jannatspiritualite.com is still parked, you told me after the 5 day grace period the domain well be available for registration…
  can i know when hi well be available?

  Hi there,

  Apologies for any confusion. After a closer look I can see the domain jannatspiritualite.com was not a new domain at all, but one I see you purchased in 2020. You can confirm on the receipt here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/45565997

  To clarify, when you purchased the Personal plan, it included a free domain for the first year, which you used to register jannatspiritualite.com

  Unlike a new domain, which does go on sale again, an existing domain that is allow to expire and not renewed does NOT go back on sale right away. Instead it goes through a 90 day “redemption” process before it goes on sale again.   However, the good news is that the domain can still be recovered, it is not too late. However you will need to renew with us (since only we can recover the expired domain for you) and not with another company.

  With this in mind, please check your inbox for the invoice we just sent, which will include a link to pay for the renewal. After you make payment please return here to let us know so we can take the next step of recovering the domain.
