  Could I be able to subscribe monthly rather than annually? I still want out try it out! When I will be satisfied I can try the annual payment.

  There are no monthly payment schemes at WordPress.com. Upgrades are paid for annually in advance. However you can experiment with the site you have now for as long as you need. If you require a custom domain then you can upgrade to the Personal plan when you are ready. Upgrading to the Premium plan would give you access to any Premium theme. You have a 30 day window for refunds (48 hours in the case of domains).
