More on my published site than asked for

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I indicated that I didn’t want to include a blog for my site, but when I published, I got a series of what I assume are blog-related menu items at the bottom of my home page, (for example:
    Recent Comments
    Archives
    Categories
    Meta
    Log In, etc.

How can I get rid of these?

  • Hi there,

What is the URL of the site you’re speaking of?

Those sound like widgets, but the Meta widget hasn’t been available on WordPress.com for a few years, so it sounds like you’re using the open source version of WordPress at another host instead. If the site is cepaledmonton.ca, that is the case here.

Log into WP-Admin and go to Appearance ->Widgets. You’ll be able to remove any widgets added to your theme by default there.

For more help with that site, please ask at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ instead.

Kokkieh, following your advice did the trick. Many thanks.
