More Search Options

  Hello
  Currently I use WordPress.org

  I not on this site the options for “searching” my “posts” are very limited (even with the advanced options”)

  For example what I want to be able to do in the following.

  1: Choose if I want to search in the post “title” only or “title and body of the post” the reason for this is I use descriptive titles for my posts so I can identify/find them latter. However when I search for a word like “WMI” I get lots of posts where the term “WMI” appears in both the title and or the body of the post, this is not what I want, I just want to ‘option’ to search for posts using the ‘title’ field only if required,

  Also

  I want to be able to combine words in the search so ‘all’ must appear in the post or title (as above) for example if I want to search for posts (or just title only) where both “WMI” and “BIOS” appear or “WMI” “BIOS “LogicalDisk” with google you would type “WMI” + “BIOS” for example, but this does not appear to work with your search engine which surprises me as WordPress is a very mature site.

  How can I resolve both of the above issues please or is this not possible?

  Sorry I meant I use WordPress.com not WordPress.org i.e. at the moment I use the free one

  That’s not how the search engine here works, unfortunately. You’re not the first person to ask.

  Shame as I would think it would be quite easy to do.

  I will have to look at writting a powershell script to do it form me
