More Shares than Views

  Why do my posts have more “shares” than views? For example, one post shows 29 Facebook shares, but the post itself only has 20 views. How could it have been shared more times than the post was actually viewed?

  I’m fairly sure that if someone shared it on FB without reading/visiting it. The share number would go up without the view number going up.

  Now, you might ask why someone would do that. But people seem to share things without reading them all the time. Example:

  It seems odd, though, that something would be shared 29 times, whether or not most, if not all, of those doing the “sharing” didn’t actually “click” the link, on Facebook and only have 20 views.

  I agree that it seems odd. But apparently, it’s a thing that people do all the time. I found that article to be an interesting read that matched what I see in my own social feeds.
