Moved domain to Squarespace, came back to export blog but it's gone…

    I have moved my website from WordPress to Squarespace. I have already changed the domain to point to my new website.

    I returned to export my blog from the WordPress page, but can no longer see it. Is the blog gone for good or can you help me find it?

    A query to the help team suggests I need to find the WordPress.com equivalent site for mr domain. However, they were not able to locate it.

    I can still see the analytics from when the page was live. But nothing else.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there, WordPress comes in 2 flavors: the fully hosted WordPressdotcom (where we are) and the open source WP (org) project at https://wordpress.org

    If you ran a site here on WordPressdotcom, you would have an underlying URL like mysite.wordpress.com which would still be available even if you moved your domain somewhere else. If you did run a WordPressdotcom site, what is its URL?

    WordPressdotcom does not keep backups/equivalents of sites using the self-hosted WP software and hosted on 3rd party hosting. If anything exists it will either be with your former web hosting service or any backup service you purchased (such as Jetpack).

    Hi there,

    radarinsight.com.au was a self-hosted WordPress website, just connected here with the Jetpack plugin. There is no underlying WordPress.com address for that site, and we have no access to your content as it was never stored on our servers.

    To get access to your content you’ll need to contact your previous hosting provider, but they’ll likely only be able to provide you with a SQL dump file of your site. You’ll need to ask Squarespace support if it’s possible to import content to them in that format.

    The alternative is to point your domain back to your old hosting provider (provided your hosting account with them is still active), export your content, import it to Squarespace, and only then point your domain back to Squarespace.
